Rights for Single Parents - Motion to Conference

As a Branch, we have decided to put forward a Motion to our National Delegate Conference to ask UNISON Nationally to support the Single Parents Campaign which is fighting to get single parents added to the Equality Act of 2010.  If this is successful this will help prevent the direct discrimination by employers and landlords towards single parents - that currently exists.

 

The motion was proposed by our Women's Officer - Mags Abbott - and she first presented it to UNISON's National Women's Conference.  

 

The Branch are very proud of her actions and give this motion its full hearted support.
